Chuck Loeb - Plain 'n' Simple

This sweepingly grooving album of Chuck Loeb presents an unusual and top-class line-up. Chuck Loeb (g), Pat Bianchi (organ), Harvey Mason (dr), Eric Marienthal (sax) and Till Brönner (tp) just finished a sold-out Europe tour under the name of DIG (Deep Inner Groove).

Chuck Loeb is currently the successor of Larry Carlton at the supergroup „Fourplay“. He will be touring with Fourplay this autum. His compositions, arrangements and productions cover a broad variety of styles. Harvey „The Mase“ Mason is one of the most influential and most recorded drummers. He played with legends like Duke Ellington, Fourplay, Herbie Hancock, The Brecker Brothers and many more. Pat Bianchi is a very talented Hammond B3 player. Joey De Francesco even claimed, Pat was the best jazz-musician on this instrument, he heard over the recent years. Eric Marienthal was a member of Chick Corea´s Electric Band for several years. He played with Dave Grusin, Elton John and Stevie Wonder.

A very special highlight of this album ist he song „Skylark“ Chuck Loeb played together with his daughter Lizzy Loeb. This is definitely one of the most beautiful versions of this standard.
